Rafah International has its base in Tarim in Yemen’s Hadramawt region. It was set up under the direction of the distinguished scholar, Habib Umar bin Hafiz, and started operating in 1997. Since then it has been striving to improve the lives of ordinary people by providing essential foodstuffs and medication, sponsorship of orphans and widows and the digging of wells. Rafah also places great emphasis on education and supports teachers, students and educational institutes.
